This commission focuses on the heart of worship and the family. Our mission is to help all of us grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Some of the ministries that are offered are: Altar Care Teams, Altar Servers, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Funeral Mass Ministers, Greeters, Intercessory Prayer, Men’s and Women’s Fellowships, Readers and Ushers.

MARIAN PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
O Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus and Mother of the Church, to you we commend our young people,
in particular those called to follow your Son
as brothers, sisters, and priests.
You know, O Mary, the struggles, doubts,
and obstacles they must face.
Assist them to answer Yes to the divine call,
as you did at the invitation of the angel.
Draw them near to your heart so that
they can understand the joy that awaits them
when they answer your Son’s call
to be witnesses of His love in the world.
Amen.


World Day of Prayer for Vocations
Today the Church throughout the world prays for vocations. Will you make a special effort to ask the Lord for vocations to the priesthood and religious life? Pray for the priests who have ministered to you throughout your life, both living and dead. Encourage your children, grandchildren, or other young people to consider a vocation as a priest or religious brother or sister. Pray a rosary for more young men and women in our diocese to respond to God’s call.

Pray for Vocations!
As Catholics, we firmly believe that God has a plan for our lives! He calls some to marriage, some to the priesthood, and others to religious life or to live as generous single people. Fully living our own vocations—and teaching young people how to discern God’s call—is a serious duty, but also a joyful one. During this week, please encourage the young people in your life—children, grandchildren, students, and friends—to be open if God calls them to priesthood or religious life.

Altar Care is a ministry that is essential and very behind the scene. We meet on Tuesdays in the evening at 7pm weekly. It takes an hour or less depending on the number of hands available.

Attention all 4th graders and above. Would you like to serve the Lord? Become an Altar Server!

Altar Servers at Our Lady of Refuge Parish are among the faithful that display the desire to participate in an intimate way during the Holy Sacrifice of the mass. Some of the responsibilities of an Altar Server are to assist in carrying the cross, the processional candles, the Roman Missal for Father Ron and assist him in other functions during the mass. Serving as an Altar Server is a privilege for the children to serve our loving savior, Jesus Christ as he becomes truly present in the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity upon the altar.

Our Lady of Refuge Parish thanks you for stepping up and making it possible to begin again the reception of the Precious Blood. We will be starting September 9th, 2023. There will be two Extraordinary Ministers available on either side of the center aisle. We still need more Extraordinary Ministers. Please see Lisa Marie following any of our Masses to be trained and placed on our teams. Ave, and again many thanks!!

Are you thirsty for the Precious Blood of Christ? Volunteer Opportunity to Serve!

One of the most intimate and meaningful ways we partake in the Mass is through the reception of Holy Communion, the Body and Blood of Christ.!

We are grateful that we’ve been receiving the Body of Christ! We would like to now offer the Blood of Christ at our Masses. To do this, we need more Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist.

Will you prayerfully consider joining our Eucharistic Ministry team and serve your fellow parishioners in this important ministry?

Our Lady of Refuge is looking to grow our “Greeter Ministry”

This is a ministry that is very important to our Catholic Faith. If you think that you are being called to this ministry think about this in your discernment:

Greeting a person warmly when they come through the door says “We are glad you are here.” Which in turn makes us feel like we belong. This is something that each and every one of us deserves to feel. A warm welcome can cheer up a person’s day, change their mood drastically and help to put them into the presence of God in preparation for Mass. It can also set a positive tone for the rest of their day!

Please consider being a greeter at the Mass you regularly attend.

Intercessory Prayer allows us to pray in a very universal way. We meet on the 4^th Tuesday of the month at 7 pm in the Narthex of our Church and conclude at 8 pm. This hour benefits in a powerful way our family, parish, universal church, community, country, those in purgatory, and all concerns you bring with you.
